A quick recap on the anonymous Abercrombie & Hitler posters drawing gasps and artsy-fartsy analysis in the Castro. Horribly, some bastard has defaced the trademark-infringing Nazi images! But oddly, it wasn't the swastikas, corpses, or winsome man with a Charlie Chaplin moustache that bothered the vandal; instead, it was the A&F logo (which actually says "Abercrombi & Fitch) itself.
Repeatedly, Chris (San Francisco's intrepid anti-conformist crusader) has posted his images, which compare Nazi propaganda photos to A&F propaganda photos. And repeatedly, some shadowy figure has scratched off ONLY the Abercrombie logos, leaving the Nazi stuff behind. It's clear to us that this is the work of some Nazi party operative, desperate to prevent his organization from being linked with a mindless retail trough for suburban poseurs. Fascinating. Abercrombie compells people to behave in ways that are so strange ... and in a way, so predictable. As our role model (and crush) Ross Palumbo would say, we'll keep you posted as the story unfolds.
