Next time we're sending out schwag bags to all the voters. Looks like we've been snubbed by the august nominating committee (read: random cranks on the internets) for this year's Bloggies. Oh well.

Gothamist did get three nominations (one more than perennial favorite in every category BoingBoing), and Londonist managed to get the nod in the best blog from the United Kingdom and Ireland category. Some of our nominees made it in a number of categories, including local bloggers Susan Mernit in the best-kept-secret division and 1115 in the best web log about politics category. We also gave Derek Powazek a nod in the lifetime achievement category, since we're excited about the idea of having an award-winning bloggerstar couple in our own back yard. Oh, and he deserves it, of course.

In the "OMFG, we can't believe this s**t" department, deranged self-serving hack This Fish Needs a Bicycle managed to make the weblog of the year nominations. It has to have something to do with crappy article in the New York Times and the end of Sex and the City or something. How that blog can sit alongside the likes of Gothamist, Gawker, Wonkette, Tsunami Help and BoingBoing is really beyond us. Anyway, get out and vote for your faves!
