It's that time of year again -- time to buy breathmints and hide the carton of cigarettes that you drunkenly told your significant other that you would stop smoking as of New Years Day. It's also time to nominate your favorite weblogs for the fifth-annual Bloggies, which are like the Oscars, except with many, many fewer free giveaways to the voters. Gothamist Jen points out that there are a scant five days left to get your nominations in.

Gothamist was nominated in three categories last year, though they didn't win the grand prize - a pass to South by Southwest in Austin, Texas. Of course they'll probably get nominated again, but we'd like to take a moment to bend down on our knees and beg that you nominate us for a category or two. We're nominating ourselves (which is totally legal) for Best New Weblog because, well, we think we're f**king fantastic and there's no "Most Conceited Weblog" category. You can also nominate any of or sister city sites -- LAist, DCist, Chicagoist, Torontoist and Londonist -- if you like, but did they let you vote on their name, repeatedly publish disgusting pictures of Gavin and Kimberly or delete your nasty comments? We didn't think so.
