For serious collectors of hand-carved phallic items, this "WOW" table made from one massive, hard piece of driftwood that recently turned up on Craigslist may be the conversation piece you've been searching for.

According to the Craigslist poster, who has apparently kept a firm grip on this gem since the early seventies, the male member was carved by Chico-based chef and artist Angelo Lucido in '73. The glass tabletop is cut to fit, naturally.

If you're in the market for a one-of-a-kind dick table, you'll have to bring your own truck: The table is listed in the Castro (the wellspring from which everything gay pours forth), but is actually located in Chico — about a three hour drive from the city's rainbow arrondissement.

Actually, there is one former Folsom Street leather bar where it would fit right in with the decor.

All cats deserved to be spoiled. This is a given. So why not do so with this nifty couch that allows them to scurry in and out via a built-in habitrail? Simply called This Cat Tunnel Sofa, it was made to "communicate and share feelings with a cat," explains Korean designer Seungji Mun, adding, "After analyzing and observing cats’ habits and behaviors through experts’ opinion and sufficient research, we designed the structure and shape of the sofa to be fully in harmony with."

Though the entire thing doesn't come apart for easy clean up — "if a cat decides to puke in the right elbow you may just have to deal with it until it dries up and the smell goes away," points out Geekologie — it sure would make your feline family member(s) happy. Pipe dream: This Cat Tunnel Sofa could also possibly deter your cats from shredding apart your couch.

We had no idea, however, how prevalent they were until they kept popping up over and over and over again in the SFist Flickr pool. Specifically, local photographer Erik Wilson (Generik11) snapped well over 100 images of discarded couches on the streets of San Francisco.

SFist asked Wilson to tell us about his interest in orphaned couches. He explains:

The first abandoned couch shot I remember taking -- the one that got me thinking about shooting more -- was actually in Fresno a few years back; 2007, I believe. You can see that image here. I thought that was a shot that expressed a strong feeling of loneliness and emptiness; to me it had both a sense of melancholy and a nice, gritty urban feel to it. These are themes that I have always enjoyed exploring in my photography.

Bed Bug Allegations

Via Mission Mission, a <a href="http://www.yelp.com/topic/san-francisco-bedbugs---mission-residents---r...

misc

bedbugs

furniture

infestations

yelp

Leanne Maxwell

Via Mission Mission, a Yelper took it upon herself to warn fellow customers of a local bookstore that she had allegedly gotten bed bug bites while sitting and reading Twilight in one of their comfy armchairs. [Update: We have no evidence she was reading Twilight -- we were just subtly riffing off of Mission Mission's sarcasm -- SFist.]

We have to agree with a couple of the respondents of these allegations: How does this person know for sure if they were actual bed bug bites and if that's where they picked up the bed bugs? Bites often don't show up for days afterwards (or sometimes minutes/hours) and are often confused with flea or mosquito bites. And, is it fair to sully this establishment's name?

Regardless, it's always good to be aware that bed bugs lurk all over the place.

Having experienced bed bug woes ourselves, we are sure to pay attention to where we lay our heads and bodies everywhere we go now. Luckily for us, our bed bug infestation went away without too much effort or stress on our part. Our landlord had the place sprayed a couple of times, which we hear doesn't usually work, but it did for us. Hooray! (And yes, we were able to catch a couple of bed bugs to confirm that's what we had.)
