Newsom veto's Open Gov legislation!

Per Boris Delephine Aide to Ross Mirkarimi:
The Mayor has just vetoed Open Government legislation that would have allowed digital recording and posting online (within 72 hours)of meeting which occur in City Hall. Not required in the legislation but also planned by SFGTV was the webcasting of this audio live i.e. webcasting. The Examiner ran two or three stories on this innovative legislation sponsored by Mirkarimi which received a 7-4 approval by the board and now must go back for revote in which Supervisor McGoldrick will need to change his vote from No to Yes. His concern was about the .5 FTE that was needed to enabled this service. Much of the cost DTIS had found other ways to pay for - like the capital cost of the servers from a Franchise fund they had.

A small GT (the car) crashed into a muni T or N line last night (5/2) around 630-7pm right in front of gordon bierch (approx spear street). The car's bumper, grill and left headlight was sheered off and left lying in the street. The driver was alledgedly on his cell phone when it happened. Some how, he did not see the 10 ton GREY AND ORANGE monster coming from behind him, and tried to beat the train across an intersection. The driver was distraught and suffering from a case of assclownitis.
