This could be you.
What with St. Patrick's Day synonymous with binge drinking, the number of drunk drivers on the road increases. Obviously. So, instead of trying to weave home after your ninth round at your favorite local pub, why not catch a cab home paid for Berg Injury Lawyers. See, their the Safe and Sober Free Ride Home for St. Patrick’s Day program will give residents in Alameda, Oakland, SF and Berkeley rides home for free.
The rides go from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m.
In San Francisco, call Luxor Cab: 415-282-4141.
In Oakland, Berkeley, and Alameda, call Veterans Cab: 800-281-4488.
Also, these cab rides are good for rides from bars to houses/apartments only, not to other drinking establishments. If you choose to abuse Berg's good will by using a cab to get to Ruby Skye or Vessel or wherever, may the raging flames of hell licking at your feet be white hot.
Also, the wait will be long, so please be patient.
(Thanks goes out to Myopenbar.com for alerting us to this free offer. You give us all so much. Sniff, sob.)

Awe.
Some.
Awesome.
cab drivers are never stoked on this.
Should totally mention up front that you will tip very, very well.
Wait, it screws cabbies AND makes for great night out?
What's next? Free WiFi?
SFGate has a link to this posting on their front page.
While this sounded like a great idea, it was falsely advertised. I read about it on SF Gate and also heard about it on the radio (KFOG). They said all you needed to do was reference the Safe and Sober Free Ride program and you would get a free ride. Sounded too good to be true - and it was. The driver of the Luxor cab I hailed home said he had no idea about the program and that I needed a coupon for a free ride. This was not mentioned in any of the advertising I heard about this program. I did not get smashed or anything like that, but I did decide not to drive - so I took the bus over to meet friends and would have taken the bus back if I had not heard about this offer. So, now I am out $15. Okay, so maybe it wouldn't have been a great deal for the cab drivers or whatever, but a little truth in advertising would have been appreciated. Shame on Luxor and Berg and Associates...
Of course he said that, you were a random hailing a cab from the street. He very much knew about the program, and also knew that in order to get the free ride home you were supposed to call Luxor and mention the Safe & Sober Free Ride program. The call has to be dispatched.
Hi, I'm sorry you had a bad experience with the program! The program is being held again during Cinco de Mayo and Halloween, and I can send you a few cab cards. Please email me at SafeAndSoberRide@gmail.com, I'm happy to help!
this definitely did not work. i called luxor, but the dispatcher hung up on me before i could even ask about the program, and when a cab came, the driver just laughed and said "free? yeah right." LAME.
