After apparent shots were fired Monday morning, police responded to a residential street in Oakland's Pill Hill neighborhood, where an armed suspect has reportedly barricaded themselves inside an apartment.

There was a dynamic situation unfolding Monday in Oakland, in the area of 29th and Summit streets, in the Pill Hill neighborhood.

As KRON4 reports, Oakland police responded to the block after receiving multiple ShotSpotter notifications, indicating that some shots were fired. But there have been no reports of injuries so far.

The individual in question was reportedly armed, and apparently had barricaded themselves inside a residence.

"Officers are continuing to attempt to communicate with the individual," Oakland police said, per the Chronicle.

Police locked down the block of Summit between 28th and 29th streets, and residents were being told to avoid the area.
