We’ve heard of orange cones stopping a Waymo, but one fellow found that climbing onto the hood of a Waymo and doing a backflip will stop it too, but the halting of three Waymos in the Marina was likely just due to hooliganism.

The most prominent viral video coming out of San Francisco this past weekend is likely that of a Marina bro doing a couple flips off a Waymo. The video below is perhaps amusing for a few laughs, but we do not recommend you try this, for a very lengthy list of reasons.

This video is making the rounds on Reddit and TikTok, and the follies begin when some fellow in a Steve Young 49ers jersey jumps onto the hood of a Waymo, and does a flip off of it. As Marina District drunks roar with approval, he gallops onto the roof of the Waymo and does a backflip even from there. Two other ne’er-do-wells also climb the Waymo, until police come along to shoo everyone away.

And people say that the kids don't drink alcohol anymore!

KGO now confirms that the melee stalled three different Waymos. That station also confirms the incident was at Fillmore and Greenwich streets, and happened at around 2 am (of course), though does not identify the date on which the incident happened.

SFPD says there were no passengers in the Waymo at the time. But AI experts are wagging their fingers at churlish behavior around self-driving cars.

"We're teaching artificial intelligence that people are harmful, and that's not what we want," former AI regulator Selika Josiah Talbott told KGO. "It's also still dangerous. The vehicle is still traveling. The car can certainly crush you. The leaps that these kids were doing on top of that car, had it been their head hitting the ground. It's just incredibly dangerous and illegal and we've taken almost a blind eye."

Per SFPD, there have not yet been any citations or arrests relating to the incident.
