- The SF Board of Supervisors' Budget and Finance Committee has OK'd the $91 million contract for 21 canopies over BART stations in the city. BART said the increased cost for the project is due to a labor shortage, higher wages, and a steel tariff. [Bay City News]
- An arrest has been made in the June 27 vehicular manslaughter death of 30-year-old Alexander Norton in SoMa. Norton was one of four pedestrians killed in San Francisco (and SFO) in the last month, and 50-year-old Kenneth Hansel has been arrested in connection with his death. [SF Weekly]
