Comedian and actor turned playwright Steve Martin also plays banjo on the side, because as he and Stephen Colbert recently discussed, he's a polymath and apparently never sleeps. He's got a new album out with his band The Steep Canyon Rangers, with whom he just did the NPR Tiny Desk Concert you can see above. He's also got a new Broadway play called Meteor Shower in which comedian Amy Schumer will be making her Broadway debut, which opens November 1 and also stars Keegan-Michael Key. And his Broadway musical, Bright Star, which he co-wrote with Edie Brickell, is coming to SF for a limited engagement at The Curran starting November 28.
Given that this is also Hardly Strictly Bluegrass week, and Martin and his band have made appearances there before, it's only appropriate that we all take a listen to Martin's mean banjo skills once more.
Seriously, though, we should all be so productive and talented at age 72.
