In a new Vogue piece from the all-important September Issue, Kim Kardashian West tells a story of a dinner before a Democratic National Committee fundraiser (in 2015? 2016?) where, apparently, her friend Serena Williams, then President Barack Obama, and husband Kanye West all apparently took turns on the karaoke mic. "It was legendary," Kardashian West says.

She also adds that Serena is "obsessed with karaoke" and she wishes that more people "could see her silly side."

The article discusses how Serena loves any excuse to put on a costume, and that will serve her well as she plans a permanent move to San Francisco after giving birth to her first child and marrying fiancé Alexis Ohanian, the co-founder of Reddit. If nothing else, SF is a city that loves all occasions for costuming.

This is the first we're hearing a for-sure confirmation of Serena's move here, though we figured that would be the case after she got pregnant and took a seat on the board of SurveyMonkey. As she tells Andre Leon Talley in the video interview above, "I couldn't be stuck in a more beautiful place."

Also: They decided not to find out whether it's a boy or a girl, because they want to be surprised. (But Serena has a hunch it's a girl: "Two weeks after we found out, I played the Australian Open. I told Alexis it has to be a girl because there I was playing in 100-degree weather, and that baby never gave me any trouble. Ride or die. Women are tough that way.”)

Apparently she's insisted that she and Ohanian not co-habitate until after they're officially married, which seems odd. But she has been building a "sprawling house" across the street from sister Venus's house in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, so that may be a factor as well. And until recently, she had been living in the same house with her sister.

In other news, Serena confirms she's planning on returning to defend her Australian Open title in January, three months after she gives birth.
