While the rest of us were sleeping or otherwise engaged Monday night, the San Francisco Fire Department was getting wet as they pulled a man from Treasure Island waters.
At 11:20 p.m. Monday, emergency dispatchers received a information on a man trapped on the rocks near Treasure Island, Bay City News reports.
Responding firefighters found the man "in an area between the Bay Bridge and the front security gate to the island," they report.
According to the SFFD, after about thirty minutes, crews on two boats were able to make contact with and rescue the man, who was not injured.
KRON 4 reports that "fire officials did not say why exactly the man needed to be rescued." According to BCN, rescuers turned the previously stranded man over to the San Francisco Police Department "for an interview."
