The stakes for tonight's MLB Wild Card game between the San Francisco Giants and the New York Mets just got way higher. Okay, not really. Still, civic pride is now on the line for our cool Twitter dads/mayors Bill de Blasio and Ed Lee, who got into it on the net this afternoon, betting on the outcome of the game with bagels and coffee. Eventually, each camp goaded the other with photoshopped images: De Blasio as Willie Mays, the New York/San Francisco Giants hall of famer, and then Lee as Mays in Mets uniform (he played for them for one year, the last of his career, and the Mets apparently never plan to let anyone forget it).
Rooting for our @SFGiants tonight as they take on #NYC's @Mets! #BeliEVEN

Prediction: @Mets will prevail over @SFGiants tonight. @MayorEdLee - SF does a lot well but NYC has you beat when it comes to baseball. #LGM https://t.co/REVSQAh6ri

You got one part of that right, @MayorEdLee. I’ll bet you @Mets win tonight and I'll put our latest bagel innovation on the line. #WildCard pic.twitter.com/Wh9U6KahDq

A bet for @BilldeBlasio: If the @Mets win, I’ll send you @PhilzCoffee but since the @SFgiants will win, go ahead & send the bagels#WildCard pic.twitter.com/VOCKklPJB4

Looking forward to enjoying @PhilzCoffee, @MayorEdLee. I’ll have w/ my @thebagelstore bagel, since @Mets won’t lose. https://t.co/Meeurgg0mj

You’re on @BilldeBlasio. But I wouldn’t get too excited. #BeliEVEN #SFGiants

Let’s up the ante. Loser wears the winning team’s Willie Mays jersey for Halloween. I think you’d look good as a @Met, @MayorEdLee. pic.twitter.com/7V3hTWK7U7

Now you’re talking @BilldeBlasio! Hope they make one tall enough for you. #SFGiants #WildCard pic.twitter.com/UtvTFJMQfd
