Police arrested seven robbery suspects this morning after a vehicle chase led officers from Oakland to San Leandro. According to the East Bay Times, all the suspects are juveniles and at least one of them is a woman. Police believe the youth are responsible for several robberies that took place over the past few days.

Apparently OPD was on the lookout for a car they thought was linked to the robberies. Upon spotting it at roughly 11:20 a.m. they tried to pull the car over, but the driver fled. Officers gave chase, following the ride on Oakland streets and eastbound Interstate 580 hitting speeds of 70 miles per hour.

The chase only came to an end when the suspects' car caught fire. The chase lasted more than 20 minutes, and numerous officers joined in pursuit.

Police were able to arrest the suspects, who are unnamed as they are minors. Some of the crimes in question occurred on Park Boulevard and Trestle Glen Road. It is not known at this time if the suspects were in possession of any weapons, or if anyone was injured in the robberies.
