In 2013, SFist posed an existential question: "Why Aren't Nachos A Thing?" That inquiry seems more and more prescient as NBC Bay Area draws our attention to a nacho celebration happening here this weekend.

Yep, if you enjoy nothing more than a pile of food that can be consumed with your hands, then SoMa StrEat Food Park, the semi-permanent food truck corral at 11th and Division, has designs on your Saturday. Head over there from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. for their nacho spectacular entitled, "Nacho Typical Festival."

Specials from vendors include non-traditional nacho fare like bulgogi beef and kimchi nachos, cheesesteak nachos, and octopus nachos. Admission is $5 and treats you to live music from Harry & the Hitmen, BATTLEHOOCH, and The Stu Tails. And for $30, you can drink all the beer your heart desires (and liver can tolerate) from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
