The Mission is getting a new eating and drinking spot this week from former Ramblas chef-owner Trish Tracey (also of Thirsty Bear), and it's called Myriad Gastropub. We first heard word of the project back in January, and tomorrow, June 17, is opening day in what used to be Nombe at Mission and 21st, as Tablehopper reports. Drinks-wise the place is wine- and low-proof-cocktail focused (see the drink menu here), with 14 wines by the glass, as well as six beers on tap and eight more by the bottle.

The full food menu is already online, and features some reasonably priced, international pub-ish fare like some mini chicken sandwiches with creamy Mexican slaw ($11); a BLT soup ($8); some bone marrow with crostini, sherry demi-glace, and tarragon-horseradish gremolata ($11); a versian of the Mayan roast pork called cochinita pibil ($19); and a grilled hangar steak with patatas bravas and romesco ($25). Tracey is serving as executive chef.

Earlier this year, on securing the Nombe space, Tracey happily announced that this puts the new restaurant "in the middle of an emerging Mission District block — one block from what city developers refer to as the 'Miracle Block' [which] includes La Vida (new 115 unit condo complex), the [upcoming] Alamo Draft House and Lolinda."

The long, two-room space has gotten a full remodel at the hands of designer Jim Maxwell, and there's now a new bar up front as well as some pretty moss-green tile around the kitchen.

Expect the place to be open seven nights a week, with weekend brunch coming sometime coon.
