Four-Alarm Fire Near Alamo Square Now Contained

A four-alarm fire that spread across four buildings on the 1500 block of McAllister Street between Divisadero and Scott has been contained. No injuries have been reported save a firefighter who was transported to the hospital with exhaustion.

The blaze, reports the Chronicle, began sometime before 1:20 p.m. and was contained by 2:30 p.m. It damaged at least 17 units. The immediate area was evacuated and an aid station was installed at 1484 McAllister.
