The San Francisco 49ers' relationship with Coach Jim Harbaugh has come to an end, and he's probably already packing box after box of chinos to take with him to his new job at the University of Michigan.

While SFist commenters seem to have a mixed assessment of Harbaugh's tenure with the team, Niners quarterback Colin Kaepernick is all gratitude. In the caption to a photo of Harbaugh with his arm around the player posted to Instagram yesterday, Kaepernick writes: "The coach that drafted me, chose to start me, and stood behind me through it all! I will never forget what you have done for me coach thank you for everything!"

Is this a reference to the shot Harbaugh gave Kaepernick in 2012 after starter Alex Smith was injured? Or, per CBS5, an acknowledgement of "questions about Kaepernick’s accuracy and leadership" even as "Harbaugh continued to voice support for his signal caller"?

I'll leave the tea leaf reading to Daisy (and to y'all commenters). In any case, it's a classy and kind nod from a player to his departing leader.
