In the good-news column for anyone in the market for a new iPad this holiday season: They have new faster processors, touch ID, and better cameras. The iPad Air 2 can now take "burst" photos like the iPhone 6, and it has a new non-reflective coating, reducing glare by 56 percent for everyone who has complained about the tablet's usability as an e-reader outdoors.
And not like this matters that much, but the iPad Air 2 is a whole 18 percent thinner than the original iPad Air, which was already 20 percent thinner than the original line of iPads. Yay for thinness. There's also some kind of photo retouching tool called Pixelmator that made the audience burst into applause (as this audience has done approximately every 90 seconds), as TechCrunch reports from the scene.
Also: Prices have come down. The iPad mini 3 starts at $399 for the 16GB/WiFi only model, and goes up to $729 for the 128GB/WiFi and cellular model. The iPad Air 2 starts at $499 for the 16GB/WiFi only model, and goes up to $829 for the 128GB/WiFi and cellular model. And you can now get an iPad mini 2, the one with retina display for $100 less, too.
There are also some new Mac models, and yadda yadda if you're obsessed with those details you're probably watching Apple's live stream right now.
So, anyway: new thinner iPads with nice cameras. And OS X Yosemite launches today. Prepare yourself for update snafus assiduously reported on your Facebook and Twitter feeds.
