Get ready to be amazed. So, maybe you've played with a hot glue gun before, or maybe you saw this other 3Doodler thing from about a year ago, but LIX is way, way cooler and more sophisticated, and I'm not even sure what all the possibilities could be. Basically, it's a pen that melts and quickly cools a thin bead of plastic, plastic which stands upright, so that you can literally draw on air. As long as it has something to sit on, because, you know, gravity. And the shapes it makes look a lot finer and refined than that earlier prototype. Plus it's the size of an actual pen.
If you want to invest, this UK-based team behind it has got a Kickstarter. If you give them $70, you'll be guaranteed one of the earliest prototypes.
