Friday: Take Five
For only $5 (paid at the door), get a behind-the-ODC Theater-scenes look at works in progress from dance artists Zach Sharrin, Marina Fukushima and Sarah Bush. Afterwards, ODC Theater Director Christy Bolingbroke will moderate an audience discussion of "what you saw, what resonated, and what sparked questions." The evening starts at 5 PM, at ODC (3153 17th Street).


Saturday: Dumpling Wars 2: The Hungry Games
Kearny Street Workshop, the oldest Asian Pacific American multidisciplinary arts organization in the country, takes over the Oakland Asian Cultural Center (388 9th Street in Oakland) for their Second Annual Dumpling Wars. At the event, eight teams will "battle it out in the kitchen to present their unique dumplings" to all attendees (who will vote on their favorite) and a panel of local celebrity judges. Attendees are offered an all-you-can-eat buffet, musical entertainment from DJ Slum B (ISA Collective), and the sense of satisfaction that comes from supporting a local nonprofit. Tickets are $20 and are available here, the event runs from 6 PM-9 PM.

Sunday: Tenderloin Sunday Streets
From 11 AM-4 PM this Sunday, stop and have some fun an an area you might typically rush through. According to event organizers, the Tenderloin "houses the highest number of families with children, has one of the highest rates of car-free households, and has the least amount of parkspace per capita in San Francisco. Few neighborhoods make a better case for transforming streets into recreational space for playing and building community." Here's a list of all the activities you can enjoy (from free dental screenings to king-fu demos) on Fulton St between Hyde and Larkin, Larkin to Ellis St, Ellis to Jones St, Jones to Golden Gate Ave, and Golden Gate Ave to Larkin St.
