Around 4:30 p.m. Friday, traffic around Octavia Boulevard was severely backed up after a vehicle collision near the intersection with Haight Street. ABC7 is currently reporting a pedestrian was struck by a car. According to SFPD, the victim may have been intoxicated.

Update, 5:15 p.m.: SFPD is now reporting that the victim stumbled out into the street. The person suffered non-life threatening injuries. Traffic is still backed up on Octavia Street, but that's about par for the course, really.
Update, 5:40 p.m.: The Examiner is now reporting that the pedestrian suffered a head injury after stumbling into the street. The driver stayed on the scene to cooperate with police.
Back in November of last year a man in a motorized wheelchair was struck and killed nearby at the intersection of Market and Octavia.
