Watch out, folks. A five-year-old boy and his babysitter were struck by a vehicle Monday evening at 5:15 p.m. at Fulton Street and 37th Avenue. Both were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. But just a little over 12 hours later, a man was struck by a driver this morning in the Financial District.
At 6 a.m. Tuesday the victim was attempting to run across a crosswalk at Sacramento and Battery to catch a green light when he was struck by a woman driving a Dodge Charger who was trying to turn left onto Battery, as CBS reports.
Also, at 8:45 p.m., a cyclist was struck by a taxi at 5th and Market. Details about the cyclists' injuries are not yet known.
With a total of 21 pedestrian fatalities in 2013, we're already on track to beat that number with five deaths so far in the first two and a half months of this year.
