And Now, Ed Lee At The State Of The Union

Billed as an "extraordinary Americans who exemplify the themes and ideals laid out in the State of the Union Address," San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee was allowed to hang with Michelle Obama last night during the SOTU. Lee got to attend the annual wonkfest with other notables like Dr. Jill Biden, a 14-year-old Intel intern, gay NBA player Jason Collins, two survivors of the Boston Marathon bombing, General Motors GEO Mary Barra, and others.

The Obama administration noted that Lee and gang represented "the stories of millions of Americans across the country, who are working hard to better their communities, improve their own economic outcomes and help restore opportunity for all."
