Afternoon Palate Cleanser: Mastectomy Dance

Major surgeries are generally no cause for celebration, and a double mastectomy is no exception. But San Francisco woman Deborah Cohan decided to infuse her procedure with a little something different: joy, fun and lots of bootie-shaking. Cohan, an Ob/Gyn and mom of two, made a decision to hold a dance party alongside her medical team in the operating room of Mt. Zion Hospital. Her song of choice? Beyonce’s “Get Me Bodied.”
