Assuming some of you have the means and desire to take a quick jaunt to St. Helena this holiday season to experience the wonders of Meadowood, its restaurant, and a holiday meal created by some of America's most innovative chefs, you should listen up. Or if you just want to torture yourself, you can read on too.

The Restaurant at Meadowood and chef Christopher Kostow are hosting their sixth annual 12 Days of Christmas series this December featuring a bevy of big-name guest chefs, as always. Proceeds from the one-time-only, five-course dinners always go to benefit charities, and this year the beneficiaries the Holly Cranston Memorial Fund and Napa Emergency Women’s Services (NEWS). Guest chefs this year, who'll be cooking collaborative dinners with Kostow and his staff, include Andy Ricker of Pok Pok, with locations in Portland and New York; Carlo Mirarchi of Blanca and Roberta's in Brooklyn; Rasmus Kofoed of Geranium in Copenhagen; New York celeb David Chang; and Bay Area chefs Matt Accarrino (SPQR), David Kinch (Manresa), and Nicolas Balla and Cortney Burns (Bar Tartine). The full schedule is here.

Also, as always, the chefs are paired with Napa vintners, who'll be bringing their wines to pair with the courses. This years winery guests include Spring Mountain Vineyard, SCRIBE Winery, Antinori Family Estate, Grgich Hills Estate, and Harlan Estate. The full schedule is here, and the first dinner is on December 6.

We've had the pleasure of going up there for this event, and it does feel pretty Christmas-y — it helps that come December the temperature regularly dips into the 30s in northern Napa, and there are fireplaces in most of the rooms. Basically, you don't get much better, or more luxe, in terms of romantic splurges, and the food is awesome.

There is still limited seating available for some of the dinners, and you should call 855-953-2435 or email [email protected] to reserve dinner and lodging packages. Now, we warned you about the pricetag, so this is clearly an extra-special Xmas present for some: Packages start at $1,315 per couple per night for weekday events and $1,390 per couple per night for Friday/Saturday events, which includes lodging, dinner, wine, and gratuity for two. For dinner only, it's $395 per person, plus tax and gratuity.
