A teen boy was arrested Wednesday afternoon on suspicion of shooting and killing 35-year-old Shauntanae Lashauna Brown in a downtown Vallejo apartment complex.
Police got reports of shots fired in the complex on Maine Street around 3:40 p.m. yesterday. The boy reportedly tried to flee the scene but was caught by a security guard who held him until the cops arrived. Brown was found dead in an upstairs apartment. A weapon was recovered, and the victim was found with "significant injuries which were the direct cause of her death" according to a release from the Vallejo Police.
The boy has been taken into custody for questioning and was booked in Solano County on suspicion of homicide. The suspect's name is not being released because he is a minor and authorities have not revealed his relationship to Brown.
