There's not one, not two, but three new coffee concerns descending on the Castro in the coming months, and today's news about Eureka! (451 Castro Street) is the latest. It's going to serve Blue Bottle coffee, and will thus be in direct competition with longtime neighborhood fixture the Castro Coffee Company just a few doors up.

Eureka!, as the B.A.R. reports, is moving into the space formerly occupied by Gelateria Naia, and long ago by a Ben & Jerry's scoop shop. And it joins two other recently announced project, the Espressamente Illy location moving in at 2349 Market Street, and Weaver's Coffee and Tea opening down the block at the corner of Noe — both of which we told you about in July.

The new coffee spot is the project of Auto Erotica owner Patrick Batt and partner Bill Singleton, and it's unclear what else will be on the menu. They're aiming to be open this month, however, ahead of the other two competitors. And, of course, the neighborhood is also home to Starbucks and Peet's, so there will soon be six coffee options all within a two blocks of each other. Anybody care to open a nice lunch spot, or a combo mani/pedi-STD clinic or something? Enough with the coffee.

Looking forward to seeing how this all shakes out.
