Witnesses Sought In Cyclist Amélie Le Moullac's Death

This memorial ghost bike at Sixth and Folsom marks the spot where cyclist Amélie Le Moullac was killed by a truck on August 14th. Authorities are seeking witnesses. Anyone who did see the fatal incident are urged to call 510-645-1000.

While riding to work in SoMa, Moullac, 24, died after a semi-truck ran her over at the intersection of Folsom and Sixth Streets. According to police, the semi-truck was making a right turn onto Sixth Street from Folsom upon impact. Following her death, Supervisor Jane Kim called for a hearing on how the SFPD investigates cyclist deaths. (SFPD's glaring anti-bike bias, as well failing to seek surveillance video of the crash, caused reasonable ire.)

"We're really thankful to Jane for bringing this forward," San Francisco Bicycle Coalition Executive Director Leah Shahum told the Bay Guardian. "We want to make sure there is ongoing accountability."
