Just as a bevy of Bay Area folk were passing through Reno yesterday evening en route to Black Rock City, a small earthquake rolled through the area just to make them feel more at home, and prompting much exclaiming on social media. The temblor clocked in at 4.2 in magnitude, centered just two miles northeast of Spanish Springs, and it struck at 5:51 p.m.

The shaking was felt as far away as Grass Valley, but there were no reports of damage. It was the largest earthquake in the Reno area since 2008.
