Padma Lakshmi munched on Danny Bowien's fine fare at Mission Chinese (in either NYC or SF, presumably the former) ordering several dishes. Seems like a bit much, but that's Padma for you.

As for your esteemed SFist editor? We had these lucky lima beans covered in bacon fat (tenderly prepared by @buffalobleu), consuming them with fondue forks in between sips of coffee and wine. As for associate editor Andrew Dalton? He explains, "Ugh, I didn't get out of bed until, like, 5 pm. When I did, I made a sausage and egg bagel sandwich, which was pretty good, actually."

Jay Barmann (he of SFist and Grub Street) consumed "two over-easy eggs with sriracha, Black Forest bacon, multigrain toast, coffee." While SF Weekly food editor Anna Roth divulges her first meal, saying, "It was a Bloody Mary and a side of that amazing brown sugar bacon at Foreign Cinema. I thought about a whole breakfast dish, but really I only wanted bacon, and I feel like New Year's gives you special dispensation to eat whatever you want. The rules start today (sigh)."

Joe Starkey (Thrillist) reveals his gory yet seemingly delicious gastronomic details: "Depending on how exact you want me to be, the Hawaiian Pizza with pepperoni and Sriracha I had at 2am or the free Safeway Italian sandwich I had with my boyfriend sitting on a bench overlooking Dolores Park."

And Ms. Eve Batey (SF Appeal) herself tells us, "Scrambled eggs with shiitake mushrooms, smoked mozzarella, and wilted arugula over a slices of roasted japanese sweet potato." And Beth Spotswood reveals her first meal of the year with this gem: "Target-brand cottage cheese with a banana and a depth charge." Delightful.

We asked some of our readers to clue us in as to what first tumbled down in their digestive tracts in 2013. Via Twitter, here are a few noteworthy replies:

...and via Facebook:

- "Greg Coll: "I was actually already giving this some thought. I'll let you know when I have it."

- Anne Marie McGill: "reheated homemade macNcheese w/broccoli & Serrano peppers."

- Charlotte Fiorito: "scones: noe valley bakery."

- Reggie Granados: "In-N-Out."

What about you?
