HRD Coffee Shop, the home of one life-altering Mongolian Beef Cheesesteak, is expanding beyond their tiny dive-diner space at Third and Bryant Streets in SoMa. Inside Scoop reports the second iteration, called HRD Smokin' Grill (because why the hell not), will open in January, right the middle of North Beach's drunk food row on Green Street.
The spot between Columbus Cafe and the Grant Street pub crawl zone most recently housed failed tubesteak purveyor The Dogfather. Like it's minuscule counter-dining predecessor, HRD Smokin' Grill will serve up a menu of Asian fare bafflingly/brilliantly fused with American diner food. The 40-year-old coffee shop really got its legs when owners Marc Rubio and JoJo Banks took over a few years back. In addition to that infamous mongolian cheesesteak that put HRD on SFist's and Food Network's radar, there's also a particularly inspired spicy pork kimchi burrito.
But don't take our word for it, you can just watch Guy Fieri shove their grub into his visage right here:
