Cheap Vietnamese staple Tu Lan had to close its doors earlier this year due to major health violations. Not surprising. But Inside Scoop has word that they might reopen. When? Soon, we hope. The troubled restaurant recently put up a sign outside the joint to let customers know that they're still trying. Paolo Lucchesi reports, "The current hope is that November or December will see a reopening, but we shall see. As they put it, until then, take care, be well and be happy."

Tu Lan was forced to shut down in January 2011, September 2011, and finally in April 2012. Among other worrisome violations, "they had eggs sitting out for three days, four days," they weren't washing their hands, and they were "scratching themselves and handling food." Regardless, we still miss their imperial rolls very, very much. Godspeed, Tu Lan.
