A roughly 60-year-old pedestrian was hospitalized after being struck by a Muni bus at 16th and Shotwell around 10:30 a.m. this morning. The pedestrian apparently forgot to check for traffic and stepped in front of the outbound 33-Stanyan, Bay City News reports.

The allegedly oblivious foot traffic was taken S.F. General to be treated for some bumps and bruises, but it expected to survive without so much as a broken hip. The driver, meanwhile, got mandatory non-driving status and some alcohol and drug tests. Muni is also reviewing the surveillance footage, although it seems like this incident is a case of pedestrian error.
