A 59-year-old shopkeeper on the 300 block of Hyde Street was critically wounded Wednesday when he was caught in the crossfire of a shootout. The man was standing outside his store around 6:30 p.m. when shots started being fired following an argument between four men. The shooter fled in an SUV, driven by a woman, after hitting the shopkeeper in the leg.

The bullet must have hit an artery, because the man's injuries were said to still be life-threatening as of Thursday. No arrests have been made, and descriptions of the assailants have not been provided.
