A 47-year-old man was stabbed Saturday night around 9:20 p.m. on the 1100 block of Market Street near U.N. Plaza. The man was allegedly in a fight with about six other people on the sidewalk at the time, though it is unclear what started the fight.
The victim's injuries are said not to be serious.
The neighborhood was generally teeming with people at that hour as Pink Saturday was getting rolling up in the Castro and as the Civic Center daytime Pride festivities were winding down. There was no apparent connection, however, between the incident and the Pride stuff.
