Great news for musical-theater and South Park fans who haven't made it to New York to see the Tony Award-winning hit Book of Mormon: The touring company is coming to San Francisco, for a five-week run at the Curran Theater starting in November. Tickets are likely to sell out fast once they go on sale, and SHN is hoping this might land them some new subscribers — at the moment, the only way to guarantee that you'll get a seat is to become a subscriber for their 2012-2013 season, the rest of which has not been announced.

The musical, written by Trey Parker and Matt Stone of South Park fame along with Avenue Q co-creator Robert Lopez, has been packing 'em in New York for the last year. It swept the Tonys and the NYT's Ben Brantley wrote, "[It's] blasphemous, scurrilous and more foul-mouthed than David Mamet on a blue streak. But trust me when I tell you that its heart is as pure as that of a Rodgers and Hammerstein show." The plot centers around two young Mormons going on a mission to Uganda, and all the hilarity that ensues thenceforth.

See the song "I Believe," as performed at the Tonys, above.
