SCIENCE: At Who's in Charge? Free Will and the Science of the Brain, Michael Gazzaniga, Professor of Psychology and Director of the SAGE Center for the Study of Mind in UC Santa Barbara and the "father of cognitive neuroscience," will discuss the cutting-edge neuroscience and psychology, as well as ethics and law, behind his deeply considered case for human responsibility versus determinism. MUSIC: Artist and composer John Wiese will perform the first live show of his latest iteration of the score Battery Instruments, which will be a collaborative performance with four Bay Area musicians, as part of Wiese's in residence work at The Lab. (8 p.m., The Lab, 2948 16th Street)
