Tony Gemignani, the pizza genius behind Tony's Pizza Napoletana in North Beach which was recently called "America's best pizzeria" by USA Today, is opening up a second North Beach joint, opening in early 2012.

True to Tony's roots (and the neighborhood surroundings, obviously), the new restaurant will replace Pulcinella at Vallejo and Stockton with another Italian eatery called Capos, which Inside Scoop translates for us to "Bosses". At Capos, Tony promises to stand out from the rest of the spaghetti joints in the neighborhood with, "several menu items that North Beach hasn’t ever had."

In other news, pizza is totally a vegetable now, says Congress and second graders everywhere.
