Barely two months after opening their first SOMA location, grilled cheese sandwich emporium The Melt has already proven they intend to act more like a rapidly expanding tech startup and less like a neighborhood lunch spot, by announcing their expansion in to three other Bay Area locations. As Eater reports today, the well-funded chain will begin working towards its goal of 500 locations and complete national grilled cheese domination by oozing in to One Embarcadero Center next week, followed by a third location on Spear Street at Folsom in the middle of November.

Sometime in November, the technology and dairy-driven startup will also be opening it's first location outside the city in Palo Alto's Stanford Shopping center. You'll remember, SFist dropped in for a bite back when the first location opened on New Montgomery Street. We found it to be delightfully like after school snacktime.

Former Flip Cam Creator and The Melt CEO Jonathan Kaplan has previously said he's already got the cash to open 20 stores, so look for more of these places popping up around your usual lunch spots soon.
