Thursday Morning Roundup


  • Matt Cain ruled the mound last night in Atlanta, giving up five hits and a walk before shutting down 18 consecutive batters. And the offense woke up too, with four runs in the fourth and two in the ninth (including a sac fly from a limpy Pablo Sandoval). Brian Wilson Relievers Dan Runzler and Jeremy Affeldt gave up a few in the bottom of the 9th, but ultimately held out for a 7-5 final score. The Giants now look to split the series in Atlanta with Tim Lincecum on the mound tonight. They're still 2.5 games back on the Dbacks. [MLB.com]
