SFist Tonight, 7/10: Barbara Eden Gala Tribute, Stranger Dinner, Bad Movie Night

PERFORMANCE: Barbara Eden will be live and in-person at a gala tribute at the Castro hosted by filmmaker and "camp impresario" Marc Huestis in conjunction with the release of Eden's new memoir, Jeannie Out of a Bottle. The event includes an on-stage interview with Eden, a Jeannie Look-A-Like Contest, a career clip highlight reel, performances by The Garden of Eden Belly Dancing Superstars as well as Arturo Galster singing Harper Valley PTA, and a special screen surprise. (8 p.m., Castro Theatre, 429 Castro Street)

FOOD: Those looking for something new for dinner should check out The Stranger Dinners, in which six strangers come together to create a collaborative meal (potluck), exploring the freedom of interacting with new people outside of "expectation, commitment, prior knowledge, or self segregation." (7 p.m., RSVP required before location is revealed_

FILM: Tonight's Bad Movie Night ponders "what the hell happened Robert Zemeckis" with a screening of Beowulf, which is one of those movies based on classic book that "leaves one stranded in the Uncanny Valley, a dark and disturbing place filled with quasi-humanoid creatures like something out of your deepest nightmare." (8 p.m., The Dark Room Theater, 2263 Mission Street)
