While it's not exactly a jump-the-shark moment for the gourmet food truck movement, Off the Grid's new for-rent rolling kitchen has lowered the barrier to entry for mobile vending. Matt Cohen, organizer of Off the Grid's weekly confluence of food trucks around the city, told SFoodie the food truck branded with his group's logo would be a good place to start for anybody looking to get in on the street food trend. No word on how much it rents for yet, but with an "on-board sound system, and a couple of flat-panel TVs" in addition to the complete kitchen, you could probably live a pretty nice existence inside while slinging your high-concept, organic peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to the suckers.
