Yearning to leave the city this weekend, but not stray too far from San Francisco? Want to get buzzed on some top-drawer champagne and grub? Have a rich aunt or uncle in town? Well, we've got just the thing for you: the Ritz-Carlton in Half Moon Bay, along with Moet & Chandon champagne, will celebrate the resort's 10-year anniversary with a celebratory brunch (named Best Weekend Brunch buy San Francisco Magazine) on Sunday.
Navio's Chef de Cuisine, Richard Gras, will whip up small plates in addition to a raw bar of oysters, clams and poached lobster tails. Also available? Tapas of risotto, sautéed foie gras and sea scallops. An all chocolate tale (?!) will be the "pastry salon," featuring mini desserts, ice cream, cake, and loads of other tooth-decaying divinity.
Here's the rub: It's $115 per person minus tax and gratuity. Hence the call for your rich aunt or uncle. In a pinch, a sexy tech geek will also do nicely.
Also, there will be a champagne flight tasting inside the hotel's noted wine room. Each flight consists of Veuve Clicquot, Krug Grand Cuvee, Dom Perignon Vintage and Moet & Chandon Imperial Rose. The cost? $29 per person. Anyway, if you can swing it, you should check it out. Come on, it's spring. You can wear your prettiest pastels and linens.
