FUNDRAISER: 826 Valencia presents their first-ever Spelling Bee for Cheaters, a tournament that tests not only the word-wisdom of the contestants, who include Daniel Handler, Tracy Chapman, and Mythbuster's Adam Savage, but also their ability to "sneakily, filthily, and shamelessly cheat". Proceeds benefit 826 Valencia's free student programming.

MUSIC/FILM: Tonight's NightLife at the California Academy of Sciences plays host to two festival pre-parties: The Noise Pop Festival, which runs February 22-27 and The Green Film Festival which is happening March 3-6. The Velvet Teen and Scrabbel will be performing live, along with BASSYX on the decks, and innovative short films will be screened, loop-style, throughout the building.

COMEDY: Truly one-of-a-kind comedy will take place tonight at the Hemlock, featuring absurdist comic from Toronto, Nick Flanagan, reigning champion of the 2011 SF Sketchfest's Iron Comic, Emily Heller, absurdist thespians/sketch comics We Are Nudes, and local fave Beth Lisick.
