The annual Free Night of Theater is almost here! It starts on Friday and runs through the entire month of October. The general giveaway for local tickets will begin tonight at 6 p.m. via Theatre Bay Area, so get those fingers/computers ready. Protip: Sign up for your Patron ID now to save time.

One hundred twenty theater companies will offer 8,000 tickets to about 150 productions. Check out the list of performances to choose from, including plays, concerts, comedy, and dance.

Additionally, if you're near Union Square today, be sure to check out Theatre Bay Area's kick-off event featuring free live performances, which is going on right now until 4 p.m.
