Gunman Storms Children's Hospital in Oakland

A man is in custody today after storming the Oakland Children's Hospital's emergency room around 3 a.,m. this morning. The unidentified man brandished a gun and took a female hostage before being talked down from the ledge, if you will, by hospital staff. The man, who has no history with the hospital or hostage, was reportedly "speaking gibberish" and kept asking arriving officers not to shoot him. According to The Chronicle, he is being "taken to a facility for a psychiatric evaluation."
