Sporting a baseball cap and no race bib, Mayor Gavin Newsom, like many others, crashed Sunday's Bay to Breakers race. Since he wasn't registered, his time couldn't be counted. A few details Newsom revealed to SFGate: "I beat my security guard," "I was in the top 1,200 or so," and "I was one of those bandits."

What kind of bandits, you ask? The kind who just show up to Bay to Breakers and, well, you know. Now, while we're all for not paying to get into events (stop snickering, PR folks), someone who makes makes $118 an hour ($245,520.00 annually) could afford the $55 late registration fee.

Worst of all, Gavin, you missed out on a commemorative t-shirt! Alas.
