Famous for the relentlessly enthralling Spring Awakening -- a Tony Award-winning tragic tale of repressed and very horny teens, which starred a pre-Glee Lea Michele -- Duncan Sheik will "preview an orchestral arrangement of a suite of songs" from his newest musical, Whisper House, at Davies Symphony Hall, starting tonight until April 10.
Described by The Los Angeles Times as a "hybrid alt-rock concert-psychological ghost story" and "an occult charmer," Whisper House is about "an 11-year-old boy, Christopher, who lives with his aunt in a haunted New England lighthouse following the death of his father." The ghosts, it seems, sing through the boy. Creepy. But good stuff.
Guest musicians Gerry Leonard on guitar and Holly Brook on piano and vocals join Sheik. Edwin Outwater conducts.

Tickets: $15-$135, available at sfsymphony.org, by phone at 415-864-6000, and at the Davies Symphony Hall Box Office, on Grove Street between Van Ness and Franklin.
