Following on the heels of the Eagle being up for sale, the century-old House of Shields "could be nearing the end of its run on New Montgomery Street." Eater reports that "the historic bar's lease runs out in June and word on the street is that at this point in time, the landlord has no intention of renewing it, meaning the current team is definitely out."
Horrifying.
Although nothing is officially or reportedly set in stone -- we would loathe to see this bar, one that played host to your editor's 30th birthday, go the way of the Eagle Drift-In Lounge or Ginger's Trois -- be sure to check out this gorgeous institution before then. They've got $2 PBRs on tap and $5 well drinks. Really, what more do you need? So go.
